CANTON – As New England Pro-Am Hockey’s 2021 Mini Chowder Cup got underway Friday morning, the Diablo 7’s started off their ’07 Division slate with a 4-3 victory over Battery Hockey Academy at the Canton Ice House.
Both teams hammered out a pair in the opening half to play it to a 2-2 draw. Luke Jarosiewicz and Matthew Shpungin came through for Diablos and Reid Lindblade netted a pair for Battery for the tie at the break.
After the intermission, Jake Campbell had a pair for Diablo, while Andrew Cox’s goal at 19:42 was all the Battery offense could muster. That 4-3 score was all the offense to be had as the Diablos 7’s skated off to their first win of the tournament.
