Walpole, Mass. — Lions Jr. wasted little time taking control Sunday morning, scoring three unanswered goals in the opening period before shutting the door defensively in a 3-0 victory over Ottawa Valley Selects.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Lions Jr. jumped in front early as Vincent Vinet (#39) buried the opening goal off an assist from Jacob Fletcher (#87) to make it 1-0.
Vinet (#39) struck again later in the period, this time finishing a setup from Maxim Perreault (#2) and Nathan Shea (#88) to double the advantage.
With the clock winding down in the opening frame, Nathan Shea (#88) added a goal, assisted by Fletcher (#87), stretching the lead to 3-0 before intermission.
Ottawa Valley Selects looked to generate offense in the second half but could not solve the Lions Jr. defense, which preserved the shutout and secured the three-goal win.
