ATTLEBORO – It was an even draw for North Star Elite and the Northern Wolverines when the two sides met on Friday at the New England Sports Village, with three goals a side in ’09 division play at the 2022 Mini Chowder Cup.
Fittingly enough for a game that ended with an even score, neither side was able to get very far from their opponent, the two sides trading goals throughout the first half. The Wolverines, then North Star and repeat as the first half came to a close tied 2-2. Kadyn Langlais and Ethan Willis credited with the scores for the Wolverines and Thomas Mattera and Hamilton Day for North Star.
It was the same when the teams returned to the ice for the second. Walker Partridge gave the Wolverines back their lead just past the midpoint of the frame, while Mattera notched his second of the game for North Star in the final minutes to bring the game back to even at its 3-3 final.
Mattera also assisted on Day’s first half goal for a game-high three points (2G, 1A).
