FOXBORO – New England Pro Am Hockey’s 2018 Mini Chowder Cup drew to a close on Sunday afternoon at the Foxboro Sports Center. The first of the tournament’s two trophies on the day was awarded to the Northeast Selects, who defeated the New England Crows 5-1 in the 2005 division championship game.
The Crows had been a force throughout the opening round of the tournament, but so had the Selects and they proved to be the better of the two in the title bout. Northeast jumped on the Crows early and did not let up.

The Crows had a number of power play opportunities late, but were only able to cash in once. A Davin Nichols bid managed to ping-pong its way into the net at 21:10. The seeing-eye puck was the only thing that managed to slip by Selects netminder Tyler Bloomfield all contest.
New England was down two with time on the clock, but it was the Selects who netted two more in those final 3:50. Philippe Lalonde and Alex Weiermair with the goals to round out Northeast Selects’ 2005 division championship at the 2018 Mini Chowder Cup.
