FOXBORO –Rapid Hockey (White) made it two 2011 division wins in a row at the 2024 Mini Chowder Cup when they defeated the South Shore Kings (Donovan) 4-2 on Saturday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center.
While Rapid pushed away in the end, the game was tight for most of its duration. The two sides played to a 1-1 draw in the first half, then each scored a goal less than a minute apart early in the second.
It was not until the game’s final minutes that Rapid was able to take control. With just 1:25 remaining, Ryan Pitfeld broke the 2-2 tie with the eventual game-winner. Lucas Desai added the empty net insurance at 19:34 of the second to solidify the 4-2 victory.
Desai (2G) and Pitfeld (1G, 1A) each had a pair of points to lead the Rapid Hockey offense.
Mike Campilio and Evan Gear were the goal scorers for the Kings.
