Foxboro, Mass. — Rapid Hockey Red 2012 Elite advanced to the 2012 Elite Division semifinals with a 3-2 shootout victory over Prep Prospects 2012 Elite in a Mini Chowder Cup quarterfinal on Sunday morning.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Rapid Hockey Red 2012 Elite wasted no time taking the lead as Gabriel Pulice (#18) found the back of the net just moments into the contest off an assist from Nicholas Santos (#6).
Prep Prospects 2012 Elite answered with consecutive goals to take a 2-1 advantage. Nicholas Assante (#6) tied the game before Daniel Campagna (#7) gave Prep Prospects 2012 Elite its first lead of the day with assists from Jaidon Avery (#20) and Rylan Meyers (#12).
Rapid Hockey Red 2012 Elite responded before the end of regulation as Pulice (#18) netted his second goal of the game, finishing a setup from Thomas Black (#94) and Alexander Zalewski (#4) to knot the score at 2-2.
Neither team could find the go-ahead goal the rest of regulation, sending the quarterfinal matchup to a shootout.
Rapid Hockey Red 2012 Elite converted twice in the shootout, with Julian Machan (#10) and Renaud Houde (#8) scoring to seal the 3-2 victory and send Rapid Hockey Red 2012 Elite into the 2012 Elite Division semifinals.
