BRIDGEWATER – It was a game that was just about as even as it could read when the RI Rebels and Atlantic Coast Elite ’09 met at Bridgewater Ice Arena West on Saturday. The two sides skating to a 1-1 draw.
The first half was played scoreless, netminder David Prendergast of Atlantic Coast and counterpart Bryce Crance for the Rebels turning aside all challenges to come their respective way.
Even though scoring started in the second, neither side could gain any sort of decided advantage. Both sides scored just once and both goals came just 30 seconds apart. Ryan Avila scored for the Rebels and Daxton Joyner tucked one away for Atlantic Coast. It was the first goal of the tournament for both players.
