CANTON – The New England Crows opened their preliminary round play at the 2019 Mini Chowder Cup with authority on Friday. They ran away in the second half to put away Bulldogs Elite 7-1 at the Canton Ice House.
It was a manageable deficit for the Bulldogs when they returned to the locker room at the end of the first half, trailing only 2-0. Nicolas Argento and Sam Hall credited with the goals in the half for the Crows.
While those two goals may have been enough – Hall’s goal going down as the game-winner – the Crows’ offense exploded in the second half, more than tripling their score with five goals in the frame.
Hall notched another, while David Coughlin put away two in the frame to tie his teammate for the game’s lead in goals scored. Christopher Calvanese and Connor Griffin finished out the scoring for the Crows.
Zach Knopf was credited with the goal for the Bulldogs, while Nicholas Warren was credited with the win in net for New England.
