Canton, Mass. — Team Real Speed 2012 punched its ticket to the 2012 Mini Chowder Cup championship with a hard-fought 1-0 semifinal victory over Gunners on Sunday morning.

Both teams generated quality scoring chances throughout the contest, but strong defensive play and stellar goaltending kept the game scoreless through the opening minutes.
The breakthrough came midway through the period when Jaxson Nadeau (#3) capitalized on a power-play opportunity off an assist from Teegan Benoit (#7), giving Team Real Speed 2012 the only goal it would need.
Gunners continued to press for an equalizer, firing 17 shots on goal, but Hunter Hawara (#1) stood tall between the pipes, stopping every attempt to record the shutout.
Team Real Speed 2012’s defense continued to hold strong in front of their goaltender, preserving the shutout and securing a 1-0 semifinal victory to advance to the championship game.
