Rapid Hockey Development nets route in 2019 Mini Chowder Cup opener.

FOXBORO – The opening week of Chowder Cup play this summer has begun as New England Pro Am Hockey’s 2019 Mini Chowder Cup opened play on Friday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center. In the first game on the tournament’s preliminary round docket, Rapid Hockey Development ’06 scored a 7-0 route over the Boston Junior Blues.

Rapid Hockey came out of the gates storming, keeping their foes off the board while striking for four in the tournament’s opening frame. Andrei Ecim, Mathieu Gosselin, Maxim Lafond and Nathaniel Harvey all netted scores as each Rapid Hockey goal came from a different player.

All it would have taken was their scores in the first, but Rapid Hockey poured on three more in the second to cement their tournament opening victory. Kaden Pitre netted a pair in the second, while Lafond pitched in his second of the game to solidify the 7-0 victory.

With a goal and three assists apiece, Ecim and Gosselin led the game in scoring, each with a four-point showing. Zack Tremblay was credited with the shutout victory in net for Rapid Hockey.
