Rapid Hockey Development blanks Mass Edge 67’s in 2006 Division Championship.

FOXBORO – Three days. Six games. Six victories. One Championship.

Rapid Hockey Development came to the 2019 Mini Chowder Cup and was successful in every contest they entered. It was a run of success capped with the 2006 Division Championship after they defeated the Mass Edge 67’s 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Foxboro Sports Center.

The game was somewhat balanced near its beginning. Rapid controlled the time of possession, but the better of the scoring chances were going to Mass Edge. That was until just before the 10-minute mark when the scoresheet broken open.

Playing with the man-advantage, Kaden Pitre took a feed in the slot and sent a laser of a wrist shot just under the crossbar for the score. The setup came from Andrei Ecim and the goal came at 9:58. It was 1-0 Rapid Hockey.

Rapid’s second score was also a special team’s goal, but this time it was the penalty kill contributing. Gabriel L’Etoile picked off the puck at the defensive blueline to break in alone for a shorthanded score that made it 2-0 at 14:07.

A snapshot by Nathaniel Harvey snuck through at 21:40 and an empty net score from Elliott Groenewold at 22:36 solidified the 4-0 final score and the 2006 Division Championship at New England Pro Am Hockey’s 2019 Mini Chowder Cup.
