ROCKLAND – Team Quebec closed out their 2010 Elite bracket on Saturday in Rockland when they hung a 7-1 defeat on the Boston Hockey Club at Lovell Arena. With the win, they finished the preliminary round of the 2023 Mini Chowder Cup at 3-1-0.
Quebec was all over Boston from the start, closing out the first half with a 3-1 advantage on the strength of a Julien Bergeron hattrick.
For as good as they were in the first, Quebec was better in the second. They bested their goal total from the opening frame by one, posting another four, while goaltender George-Nektarios Panagakos closed out the 6-1 win with a perfect second half in the Team Quebec net.
Bergeron factored into three of the four Quebec second half goals to finish with a six-point contest (5G, 1A). Zaac Charbonneau (1G, 2A) also had multiple points for the victors.
Dylan Rothstein was credited with the lone Boston goal.
