FOXBORO – EHG started with a win in their first game at the 2023 Mini Chowder Cup on Friday afternoon as they defeated the Jr. T-Birds in 2009 division play at the Foxboro Sports Center.
It was not until the second half, however, EHG got going as the T-Birds owned the first. Gabe Kolodjay and Tanner Kmetz each scored a goal, while goaltender Matt Lafley thwarted all attempts that came his way to send the T-Birds to the break leading 2-0.
The good times ended for the T-Birds as the team’s returned for the second. EHG adjusted at halftime and the offense awoke. They struck for five, while this time it was Maxime Godard’s turn to turn away all their opponent’s shots from the EHG net to lead the comeback, 5-2 win.
Christian Hanna topped the EHG scoring with a pair of goals, while Liam Collins, Dominic Zabat and Michael Suarez each had a pair of assists in the contest.
