Generals double up Hockey Essentials

WALPOLE – The Boston Generals Northeast moved to 2-0 at the 2014 Mini Chowder Cup on Saturday morning when they scored a 4-2, ’01 Division win over Hockey Essentials White at Rodman Arena.

Things looked good at the start for Hockey Essentials as Mackie Samoskevich put them up 1-0 just 0:32 into the game. From there, however, the remainder of the half belonged to the Generals who went for a pair to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission. Adian Connolly and Shane Calhoun were credited with the goals for Boston.

The script looked similar in the second half. Essentials scored first to draw even at 2-2 on a Nick Zerafa goal at 5:02, but the Generals came back with another pair to secure the win. Matt Kryzak put Boston back in the lead at 8:47, while Philip Tresca put one into an empty net with two seconds to play for the 4-2 final score.

Connolly led the game in scoring as the only player with multiple points in the contest, credited with a goal and an assist. Joe Sharib was in net for the win for the Generals.
