Chill open with win.

BRAINTREE – The Chill Hockey Club turned their debut at the 2023 Mini Chowder Cup into a win on Friday morning. They defeated the 128 Elite Raiders 5-3 in 2010 Elite division play at Thayer Academy.

An early lead paced the victory for the Chill, as they ran out to a 4-1 lead at the intermission. Reese Ewell, TJ McGuiggin, Alexander Frumkin and Jake Jaffe did the scoring for the Chill, while Ronan Foley made sure the Raiders did not head into the break empty handed, credited with 128’s score in the opening frame.

The Raiders got the better of things out of the break, winning the second half by a 2-1 margin, but it was not enough to catch their foes. The Chill held on for the 5-3 victory.

Foley added a second in the second to lead all goal scorers in the contest with a two-goal outing, while Alex Guo led the Chill offense with a pair of assists.

The Chill’s Nico Testa wend down as the winning netminder.
