CANTON – The Vermont Flames started their stay at the 2023 Mini Chowder Cup strong with a deceive win on Friday morning. They defeated NorthStar Elite 6-1 in 2009 division play at the Canton Ice House.
After a first half that saw the Flames amass a 2-0 lead – goals coming from Esher Brier and Charlie Pickel – offense took off in the second half as Vermont struck for four to put the game away.
Anthony Brunetti notched a pair, while a pair of Benjamins – Bezio and LaRocque – each added a goal for the Flames in securing their 6-1 victory.
Zachary Brochet was credited with the lone NorthStar goal.
